So you're passionate about a career as an actor...
You've been well trained.
You've networked a little, and taken a few great classes.
You've even landed a few good roles.
... now what?
What is Launch Pad?
Launch Pad gives you personalized access to industry leaders who make decisions about casting. After giving a brief performance, you'll be given feedback on your work based on what the director would think in an audition.
Launch Pad takes the ambiguity out of auditioning.
What can Launch Pad do for my career?
The anxiety going into an audition is matched only by the uncertainty afterward. Did I get the point across? What did they see?
Imagine if you could just ask, and know you were getting an honest, straightforward opinion.
Here's your chance.
Every actor at a Launch Pad Casting Workshop has the chance to receive feedback about their performance.
Feedback is focused on the casting professionals' actual criteria they use in auditions.
Each actor at Launch Pad instantly finds out how they are perceived using real-world guidelines.
Once you know the difference between how you think you come across, and what another professional actually sees in your work, you gain the power to make concrete changes.
Working through these changes will improve your odds for success, and will help you maximize your chances of being cast.
Launch Pad offers access, awareness, and the next step in your ability to be cast.
What happens when I sign up for a workshop?
Every Director or Casting Professional at a Launch Pad Workshop develops a brief list of criteria they consider to be essential. Each Director's list is different, depending on what they consider important.
When an actor registers for a Workshop, the Moderator, Lance Brett Hall, will briefly discuss the list the director provides with each participant. At the Workshop, the Director will address each of these criteria regarding the actor's performance. After Launch Pad ends, Lance will follow up with each actor to help them review and dissect the Director's reactions.
Launch Pad's usual format is a cold reading of scenes done with a partner. The Director or Casting Professional will give feedback on each reading after every actor's performance.
What actors should come to a workshop?
There are two different types of Launch Pad Casting Workshop. Stage II is designed for professional actors who are already established in their career and looking for the next step. Stage I helps actors who are just starting out.
Stage II
For established actors
Actors must have had a speaking role in a full-length, professional production within the past year.
Stage I
For actors beginning their careers
Actors should have had some professional training or be bound for a training program. Actors at a Stage I workshop may also be recommended by an educator.
